This iris came to me as a (perhaps fortuitious) mistake, and first bloomed in 2017.

I had ordered 'Yosemite Nights' and received this iris instead. A round of emails later (the nursery owner was out of town), and the iris was identified as 'Yonkers'.

It has a striking flower that demands attention, surprisingly so given the shorter stature and smaller bloom of this IB iris.

I'm not sure what I am going to do with it; similar to the other SDB, IB, and BB irises I have, it is somewhat small sized for the garden. I might keep it in a pot, or I might try to shoehorn it in with the other purple and white plicata irises in the bed off the wooden deck.
